CENTURY (Modeling Ecosystem Responses to Climate Change)
CENTURY is a biogeochemical model that simulates the long-term dynamics of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur for different plant-soil systems. CENTURY is a 'stat' model; it assumes biome system is fixed as grassland, agricultural/crop, forest, or savanna. CENTURY was especially developed to deal with a wide range of cropping system rotations and tillage practices for system analysis of the effects of management and global change on productivity and sustainability of agroecosystems.

The NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis project is using a state-of-the-art analysis/forecast system to perform data assimilation using past data from 1948 to the present.

The ISLSCP Initiative II data collection
This website provides data of Vegetation, Hydrology & Soils & Topography, Snow & Ice & Oceans, Radiation and Clouds, Near-Surface Meteorology, Carbon, and Socioeconomic. The data sets span the period 1986-1995, and are mapped to consistent grids (0.5 x 0.5 degree for topography and land cover, 1 x 1 degree for meteorological parameters). The temporal resolution for most data sets is monthly; however, a few are available at a finer resolution (e.g., 3-hourly).

Global Soil Wetness Project 2
This website provides data of Soils (fixed in time), Vegetation (some fixed and some monthly varying), and Meteorology (three-hourly). All data are available for global fields at 1.0 x 1.0 degree resolution.

ATSR World Fire Atlas
Monthly global fire maps estimated by infrared radiatio sensor on ASTER2. Available from November 1995 to now.

Global Precipitation Climatology Project (GPCP)
Global precipitation data, which is based on obserbation. Precipitation map generators are avaiable on this site. From this directory, monthly mean precipitation data on a 2.5'~2.5' grid can be directory obtained.

The DAAC's Web site
The Distributed-Active-Archive-Center (DAAC) of the Oak-Ridge-National-Laboratory (ORNL) sponsored by NASA. This site provides biogeochemical and ecological data useful for environmental process research. Registration will be required to download the data with some exception like NPP Database.

FLUXNET coordinates regional and global analysis of observations from micrometeorological tower sites. Exchanges of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and energy between terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere are measured at over 250 tower sites on a long-term and continuous basis. This site provides these flux data and site characterization data.

IPCC Data Distribution Centre
Web site of Data-Distribution-Centre of the Intergovernmental-Panel-on-Climate-Change (IPCC), which has been established to facilitate the timely distribution of a consistent set of up-to-date scenarios of changes in climate and related environmental and socio-economic factors for use in climate impacts assessments.

Global Surface Summary of Day
Surface meteorological data over 9000 Worldwide Stations. The data are usually updated daily.

The International Tree-Ring Data Bank
Includes raw ring width or wood density measurements, and site chronologies (growth indices for a site) for over 2000 sites. Reconstructed climate parameters are also available for some areas. Mintained by the NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) Paleoclimatology Program and World Data Center for Paleoclimatology.

The Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study
The Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (HBEF) a Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site in cold-temperate-zone of US. On the web site, forest inventory data base is available with online interactive program, which calculates some basic summaries about forest dynamics at Hubbard Brook.
