CENTURY is a biogeochemical model that simulates the long-term carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur dynamics for different plant-soil systems. CENTURY is a ‘stat’ model; it assumes the biome system is fixed as grassland, agricultural/crop, forest, or savanna. CENTURY was specially developed to deal with a wide range of cropping system rotations and tillage practices for system analysis of the effects of management and global change on the productivity and sustainability of agroecosystems.
