Description:
This dataset provides annual atmospheric CO₂ concentration data based on the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) used in the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The data are available in text format and originate from the ISIMIP3b (“Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project phase 3b”) Atmospheric Composition input dataset.
The “historical” period (1850–2005) is derived from published literature values, and the years 2006–2014 are supplemented with observations from NOAA ESRL.
For future scenarios (SSPs) from 2015 onward, values are based on Meinshausen et al. (2020).
