This major update of SEIB-Explorer introduces full integration with the SEIB-DGVM core (executable binary). As a result, the entire workflow–from running simulations to visualizing results–can now be carried out seamlessly within a single environment.
In addition to pre-configured sample site simulations, users can now run simulations for any location and time period of their choosing. However, in such cases, climate data must be prepared in advance. The Climate Data Generator provided on the official SEIB-DGVM website would be a big help.
SEIB-Explorer 2.0 also retains its functionality as a visualization tool for pre-existing SEIB-DGVM output data, just like earlier versions. From the top menu, users can choose between “Visualization only” and “Simulation + Visualization” modes.
Communication between the Unity project and the simulation core (written in Fortran90) is handled via small text files. While this method limits communication speed, it offers a high degree of separation between Unity and Fortran90 components, significantly minimizing the required changes to the Fortran code.
The Fortran source code of the model core is also included in the installation directory. I clearly marked inserted lines in the code for integrating with Unity. By simply commenting out those marked lines, users can easily switch between the Unity-integrated version and the standalone version of SEIB-DGVM.

SEIB-Explorer 2.0をリリースしました
今回の大型アップデートでは、SEIB-Explorer に SEIB-DGVM 本体（実行ファイル）を統合しました。これにより、シミュレーションの実行から結果の可視化までを、一元的に実行できるようになりました。
事前に用意されたサンプルサイトでのシミュレーションに加えて、任意の地点や期間を指定してシミュレーションを実行することも可能です。ただしその場合は、SEIB-DGVM公式サイトで提供されている「気候データジェネレーター」などを利用し、気候データを事前にご用意いただく必要があります。
また、SEIB-Explorer 2.0 は、従来どおり既存のSEIB-DGVM出力データの可視化飲みを行うツールとしても利用可能です。トップメニューでは、「可視化のみ」または「シミュレーション＋可視化」のモードを選択でき、利用目的に応じて機能を切り替えることができます。
Unityプロジェクトとモデルコア（Fortran）間の通信は、小さなテキストファイルを介して行われています。この通信方式は速度面では制約がありますが、UnityとFortran間の分離性が高く、Fortran側の変更箇所を最小限に抑えられるという利点があります。
なお、このモデルコアのソースコードもインストールフォルダ内に同梱されています。Unityプロジェクトとの統合に伴って変更した箇所にはコード中に印を付けてあり、その部分をコメントアウトするのみで、スタンドアロン版のSEIB-DGVMに機能が切り替わります。
